Just a quick update

I'be been very lax about posting on here lately.
OH is still out of work. He has been very serious about his job hunting, applying for over 40 vacancies so far & has interviews for about 15. Each time he has had feedback from the interviews, who tell him that he was in the top 2 or 3, but he,s always pipped at the post.
OH has now  begun the demoralizing process of claiming jobseekers allowance, which he had hoped to avoid.
Please keep him in your thoughts, he does get down at times.

  1. No wise words to share, but sending hugs and best wishes to you all. Admiring your OH's determination with the job applications, and sending him all the best - hope that he finds the right job very soon xxx

  2. Thank you Morgan,
It's hard to know what to say to him at times. I just put this down last night as I needed to get it off my chest. Thank you for replying. Hope you are not too wet at the moment.

  3. That's a really horrible thing to have to go through - I am so sorry and will be thinking of you both and hope that job with his name on comes along very soon.

  4. Thank you so much Sue. Hope Mol & Buster cat are ok

  5. The local job centre is the most depressing place, hope he finds what he is looking for....

  6. Tell OH that a good trick is to not talk about himself directly in the interview but rather re-frame his answers about how the company can benefit......i.e. "Your company will benefit from my...." instead of I this and I that. Also, at the end when they ask if he has any questions, ask things like "What do you see as the immediate challenges of the role?" or " What are the three top things that the company is trying to achieve in the coming year?"... Just a tip or two from someone who hires scores of people yearly. Hope it helps.
